Trenching to begin May 5:

H&T Construction is scheduled to begin the first half of our trenching project on Tuesday, May 5.    This will consist of approximately 150 linear feet on Newning Avenue and another 350 linear feet of “soft ground” trenching between Drake and Newning.

We thank our many donors for making this possible and the affected landowners for their cooperation.  Approximately $15,000 more is needed to complete the Drake/Park Lane portion of the project.

First Thursday May 7:

A large number of South Congress merchants are donating a percentage of their profits all day and all night on First Thursday to the Save Austin Oaks fundraising effort.  The number of participating merchants grows larger all the time, but at press time the list includes:

Tesoros                        Farm to Market
Homeslice                    Monkey See Monkey Do
Creatures                     Crofts Originals
Maya                           Hey Cupcake
Hovercraft                    Woodland

Look for the participating merchant flyer and support our neighborhood businesses in their efforts to Save Austin Oaks!

Thanks to Hotel Saint Cecilia:

Save Austin Oaks thanks Liz Lambert, Greg Marchbanks and the excellent staff of the Hotel Saint Cecilia for the elegant reception on Sunday evening, April 19.
Guests enjoyed food and beverages (including Live Oak beer donated by Live Oak Brewery), music by Tosca Girls and Amy Cook and tours of the Hotel’s beautiful grounds.

The event allowed us to show our appreciation for our most generous contributors and our most energetic volunteers.  To Liz and Greg, our heartfelt thanks for making this special evening possible.
